My 7 Favorite Things to Do in Kuala Lumpur

One of the many misconceptions that people believe in when talking about Kuala Lumpur is that there aren’t a lot of things to do in Malaysia’s capital city, but that is actually far from the truth. I may have believed this statement if it was still in the early 2000s, but a lot of things have changed (for the better) since then.

Because Malaysia is one of the most successful cities in Southeast Asia, there a lot of opportunities here; so much so that you can find just about anything that you could ever ask for.

Want a place to eat? There are plenty. Want places to go with your family? There are loads of that as well. Want to enjoy the night with an amazing escort girl? The city has got you covered.

Seriously, no matter what things you want to do, Kuala Lumpur can deliver. But today, I want to center this article around my favorite things to do in this city.

KL Tower

The locals call the tallest telecommunications tower in the city as Menara Kuala Lumpur, but it is actually not used for that anymore.

In fact, the tower itself can be used by people if they want to get the best possible view of the entire city. Not only that but you can also dine in their revolving restaurant as well, where you can also find a great view of the city while munching on your favorite, Michelin-worthy meals.

Central Market

Malaysia’s central market used to be a wet market but has now been renovated to provide a premier spot to buy some Malaysian wares.
Here, you can find plenty of Malaysian souvenir items, as well as foods to keep you full until the night comes.

Sultan Abdul Samad Building

Built by the British in the late 1890s, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building is located in front of Merdeka Square. This Moghul Building now houses the Ministry of Heritage, Culture, and Arts.

Perdana Botanical Garden

Sometimes, you just want to reflect on your life and an ideal place would be somewhere peaceful and serene. Fortunately, Kuala Lumpur has that place and it is called the Perdana Botanical Gardens.

You can either take a long walk of the entire gardens or you can look at the lovely lake that will give you the space and serenity that you need to reflect.

Berjaya Times Square

I’ve traveled to many Asian countries and I’ve never seen a mall big enough to fit an entire theme park inside. You can find this at Berjaya Times Square and it is one great place to spend with your family.

Aside from the theme park, you can also find designer brands, expensive shops, and fine restaurants within the mall as well.

KL Bird Park

The Perdana Botanical Gardens is a pretty huge place and in it, you can also find the KL Bird Park as well.

It was opened to the public back in 1991 and it is created in such a way that is conducive to birdlife. That being said, tickets to this park are quite cheap and your kids will definitely enjoy this place for sure.
